D. Michael (Mike) Patrick is the Executive Vice President of Sunrise Mortgage. He has more than 40 years of experience in mortgage banking and was an original co-founder of Sunrise Mortgage in 1983. He moved from Phoenix, AZ to San Luis Obispo, CA in 1990 and opened the second Sunrise Mortgage office in his hometown. Mike is known for his thoughtful evaluations and creative solutions to financing puzzles. He has many decades-long relationships with borrowers and lenders and continues to be a top producer in the company. Two of his three daughters also work at Sunrise.
Mike is also a founding director and board member of Founders Community Bank, now part of Premier Valley Bank, a Heartland Financial subsidiary. He serves on the board of directors of the Community Foundation of San Luis Obispo County and is President of the Real Estate Foundation, under the Community Foundation’s umbrella. He is also the past President of the SLO Children’s Museum and an active member of the First Presbyterian Church.
In his free time, Mike enjoys singing with the California Vocal Arts Ensemble, hiking, and spending time with his wife of 37 years, DD, their three daughters and two grand dogs.
Bryan A. Kenny has been actively originating commercial real estate loans for Sunrise Mortgage since 2002. As a partner for the firm, Bryan manages the firm’s Southern California production and focuses on the firm’s overall lender development. His utmost concern is his clients’ needs, always listening and delivering on the best capital solution for their deals while focusing on the long term lender relationships that has shaped the firm’s reputation in a competitive landscape.
Prior to his career in commercial real estate financing, Mr. Kenny was a production and story development executive in the motion picture industry, working on several Academy Award nominated studio feature films, including Great Expectations (1998), A Little Princess (1995), When a Man Loves a Woman (1994) and Born Yesterday (1993).
Personally, Mr. Kenny graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Bucknell University in 1991 and is married to Dr. Monica Sarang, an internist in private practice, with whom they have two teenaged sons. They are strong supporters of various youth leadership organizations. Bryan has volunteered extensively over the years fundraising for their sons’ school and coaching/managing numerous youth sports. Currently, Bryan sits on the school board of six Alliance College-Ready Public Schools within the greater Los Angeles area. Outside of work and volunteering, Bryan is either traveling, golfing, fishing or cooking for his family and friends.
Lewis J. Hastings III joined Sunrise Mortgage & Investment Co. fresh out of college in the spring of 1995, and for more than twenty years has provided critical support throughout the development of both the company’s portfolio and their many key investor-lender relationships. He holds a B.S. in History with an emphasis in Land Use and Urban Planning. He is from La Canada, California.
Senior Vice Preside John W. Fynmore has worked with Sunrise Mortgage & Investment Co. since 1996. He is a designated real estate broker in our Phoenix office. Mr. Fynmore’s career in mortgage banking began in 1982, garnering extensive expertise in loan origination, servicing and closing support, as well as I.T. infrastructure support for a range of loan types, from life companies, CMBS, and credit unions to SBA and construction loans.
He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Detroit and has completed CCIM and MBA course work. He was a member of the United States Air Force and a T-38 Instructor Pilot. His approach is hands-on and relationship-oriented, with an emphasis on providing a personalized approach to meet each client’s investment strategy.
George Spadier is a Vice President in Sunrise’s West Los Angeles office. He joined Sunrise in early 2013 and has quickly become a top producer in the firm. Most frequently he arranges financing for industrial, self-storage, retail, office, and multi-family properties throughout the United States but also sources financing for various other product types in order to help his clients meet their investment goals. George has built a broad expertise in commercial real estate banking and enjoys finding elegant solutions to complex transactions. He believes that building lasting relationships not only helps produce the best results, in business and in life, but also provides the most meaning to both.
Prior to Sunrise, George was a Senior Portfolio Analyst at PennyMac where he provided pricing and analysis for the acquisition and management of a $4.0 billion non-performing whole loan portfolio. His past experience also includes real estate investment sales and running a small successful baseball business after college.
George graduated from Cal State University Northridge earning a Bachelor of Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance. He is an active member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), ULI’s Young Leaders Group (YLG), and International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). George is also a Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) Investor and Origination Council Member.
George is a Los Angeles native and enjoys travel, hiking, sports, and spending time with his wife and son.
Charles, also known as Chuck, has been in commercial real estate since 1972. He brought his extensive experience in Sunrise in 1996, and has spent 21 years in the Pasadena office. Chuck specializes in negotiating permanent, bridge and construction loans for all types of commercial real estate, primarily located in the southwestern United States. Chuck holds an MBA and B.S. in Finance from the University of Southern California.
In his free time, Chuck plays golf, volleyball, travels to visit his grandchildren, and takes care of his wife Mimi’s retired show dogs. He and Mimi have been married for 49 years.
Rick Brignolo joined Sunrise Mortgage in 1999 upon graduating from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a B.S. in Business Administration Finance Concentration. Rick focuses on new loan origination primarily in the markets of Central and Southern California.
A Napa, CA native and graduate of Justin-Siena High School, he has called San Luis Obispo home since 1994. Rick remains active with Cal Poly serving on the Board of Directors for the Mustang Athletic Fund.
Kamron Aghevli began his mortgage banking career in 2004 and is a Vice President at Sunrise Mortgage. He joined Sunrise Mortgage in 2011 after working as a Director at another Los Angeles-based mortgage banking company. Kamron is responsible for the negotiation and placement of permanent, bridge and construction commercial real estate loans for private and institutional clients throughout the country. Kamron places great value in the long term relationships he has developed with his clients as well lenders. He is also responsible for the growth and development of the Sunrise Pasadena office.
Kamron graduated Cum Laude from the University of Southern California with a BS in Business Administration and Real Estate Finance and Development. He has been an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers for over 10 years. Kamron is proud to be a Los Angeles native, born and raised. He spends his free time with his wife and two young sons and enjoys snowboarding, spearfishing and playing soccer.
Zach Tolson joined Sunrise in 2017 after graduating with honors from Grand Canyon University with a B.S. in Finance and Economics. Zach has proved a quick study in his time at Sunrise and is actively involved in loan servicing in the southwestern United States as well as loan research and analysis.
Zach played basketball at the collegiate level for Northern State University before concluding his career at the Division 1 level for Grand Canyon University under head coach Dan Majerle. Zach continues to pursue his passion for basketball by coaching one of the top AAU basketball teams in Arizona. He is a Phoenix, AZ native and enjoys traveling and skiing.
Nicodemus Pew is a commercial loan analyst in our San Diego office. Prior to joining Sunrise Mortgage & Investment Co. in May 2015, he served as a Mortgage Loan Specialist with Bank of America, building a comprehensive understanding of the San Diego commercial real estate market. He supports all aspects of loan processing and closing, inspecting properties and preparing reports for loans throughout San Diego county to assist in servicing of $2 billion+ portfolio. He is responsible for providing analysis support across a diverse range of potential commercial real estate loans, including industrial, office, retail, and multifamily spaces; assembling loan packages for institutional lenders; and performing stabilized cash flow analyses and valuations to underwrite commercial properties.
He holds a B.S. in International Business from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and is a licensed California real estate salesperson.
Michelle Patrick is a Loan Analyst and new to commercial real estate. She joined Sunrise Mortgage in 2017 after eight years in consulting, customer strategy, and energy. Michelle’s work at Sunrise includes loan analysis, underwriting, and servicing several hundred loans across 31 states. She has an MBA from the University of North Carolina, Kenan-Flagler and a B.A. in Economics/Mathematics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, both with honors.
Michelle also serves on the Board of Directors for Global Glimpse, a non-profit which provides youth of all socioeconomic backgrounds the life-changing opportunity to travel abroad.
Carmelita has been with Sunrise Mortgage for 24 years. As the Loan Administrator and Loan Closer in the company’s Pasadena office, Carmelita coordinates all activities associated with closing loans produced across multiple Sunrise offices. She is known for her client-focused attitude, thoughtful project management, and attention to detail. Prior to joining Sunrise, Carmelita spent 12 years in mortgage banking department of a commercial bank, preceded by work in real estate sales. Carmelita remains a licensed California real estate sales person.
Originally from Belize, Carmelita currently lives in the Los Angeles area. In her spare time, Carmelita enjoys practicing yoga, jogging and spending time with family and friends.
Iowa native Denice Clucas joined Sunrise Mortgage & Investment Co. as an administrative assistant in 1994 before transitioning to real estate loan administration a year later. She specializes in loan closing, leveraging her extensive professional background in commercial construction to offer building and environmental expertise to investors throughout the financing process, all while adhering to the motto: treat others the way you want to be treated.
Bobbie joined the Sunrise San Luis Obispo office in 2015. In her role as Loan Administrator she touches all parts of the office operation including loan servicing, analysis, and process management. Bobbie is known for her can do attitude, willingness to help, and attention to detail. Bobbie brought several decades of experience in office management, human resources coordination, book keeping and management to Sunrise.
Bobbie has a B.S. from Cal Poly in Human Development and has lived in San Luis Obispo for 30 years. She and her husband Blake have two grown children, Ann and LB. Bobbie believes that “the most important things in life are not things.”
